Sean Horlor and Steve J. Adams are the directors, writers, and executive producers of Satan Wants You, a thrilling account of the extraordinary story that ignited the Satanic Panic of the 1980s. It premiered at SXSW 2023 and won acclaim at festivals around the world, including Best Documentary awards at Fantasia Film Festival and from the Vancouver Film Critic Circle. Their next feature film is about a notorious political family that broke the internet in the 2010s. They are also the directors and writers of Someone Like Me, a critically-acclaimed National Film Board of Canada feature documentary that won top honors at international film festivals, including the Audience Choice Award at Hot Docs 2021. Sean and Steve have directed and produced over 20 projects together, including the award-winning The Day Don Died (Palm Springs Shortfest 2019). Their path to feature filmmaking began after an appearance on OUTtv’s Hot Pink Shorts reality series in 2012. They are proud members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Producer Michael Tanko Grand's most recent work includes feature documentary SATAN WANTS YOU, directed by Sean Horlor and Steve J. Adams, which is having its World Premiere at SXSW 2023; feature documentary THE GRIZZLIE TRUTH, directed by Kathleen S. Jayme, which won the Audience Award at its World Premiere at VIFF 2022, and GAME 7, a feature documentary under ESPN's 30 for 30 banner which will be released summer 2023. Michael is also known for the 2018 cult hit documentary Finding Big Country (Telus, ESPN, ABC, Sportsnet), 2019’s controversial breakthrough mini-series Surviving R Kelly (Lifetime Network, Netflix), 10-part documentary series Abandoned (VICE), and snowboard documentary Unbroken: The Snowboard Life of Mark McMorris (CBC, ABC, ESPN). Michael has also produced critically acclaimed video content for CBC, the New York Times, as well as award-winning podcasts, such as This Sounds Serious, and Hindsight.
MelissA JAMEs

Melissa James is an award-winning producer & director and owner of Sigil Films. She recently produced the critically acclaimed documentary feature Satan Wants You (2023) which premiered at SXSW. The film is certified 95% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and was dubbed "the scariest documentary of the year" by Variety. She also directed Witch Hunt (2023) a short doc which premiered at the Salem Horror Fest and won Best Documentary at the Denver Underground Film Festival. Her previous work includes co-producing the Canadian Screen Award nominee for Best Documentary Letter from Masanjia (2018) as well as Human Harvest (2014), which won the Peabody Award for Documentary. Prior to this Melissa wrote, directed and produced the critically-acclaimed indie music documentary No Fun City (2010), which won Best Documentary at the Victoria Film Festival, and was featured in Maclean's Magazine. Melissa is an established archive producer whose credits include I'm Just Here For The Riot (2023) an ESPN 30 for 30, and Searching for Satoshi (2023) for CBC.
